DAVID BORGER

Executive Director

David has led Business Western Sydney since its foundation in 2012. Prior to this, he served as the Minister for Western Sydney, Minister for Housing, Minister for Roads, and Minister assisting the Minister for Transport and Roads in NSW Labor Governments.

He was also the youngest person, at 30 years of age, to hold the office of Lord Mayor of Parramatta.

David is currently the President of the Powerhouse, a Director of Think Planners, Independent Chair of the Liverpool Innovation Precinct and South West Sydney Alliance, a non-executive director on the boards of the NRMA, and a member of the Placemaking NSW Advisory Committee.

Lauren is an accomplished Executive Assistant with a decade of administrative experience across diverse industries. Based in Western Sydney, Lauren has consistently excelled in executive support and facilitating seamless business operations. With a versatile skill set honed through her work in real estate, e-commerce, retail, insurance, and multiple other fields, including fashion, workplace health and safety, and project management, she brings a wealth of knowledge and adaptability to her role. Lauren's exceptional organisational abilities, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills make her an invaluable asset in optimising efficiency and fostering productive relationships.

Nick Ryan
Policy Manager

Nick is a passionate advocate for Western Sydney. He has worked as a journalist for the Sydney Morning Herald and a digital content producer for multinational brands. In more recent years he has been an adviser to mayors, premiers and senior federal members of parliament. Nick has a particular interest in the Arts, urban place making and better connecting the people of Western Sydney to their local environment, particularly rivers. For several years Nick advised the foreign minister on the Pacific region and is still deeply engaged with CALD communities and issues such as regional defence and trade

Alan Mascarenhas

Executive Manager, Policy & Advocacy

Alan is a journalist, advocate and policy leader with more than 20 years of professional experience. Educated in Australia and the United States, with degrees in law and public policy, he started his career at the Sydney Morning Herald and Newsweek. In a political capacity, he has served as senior advisor and speechwriter to three NSW Labor Leaders and Mayoral Fellow for the City of Chicago. 

An effective political candidate and campaigner, with a track record of community advocacy, Alan combines strategic insight and communications skills with knowledge of government. Based in Parramatta, having grown up in Carlingford and the Hills District after his family migrated in the late 1980s, he understands Western Sydney and is passionate about its future.

Katherine Morgan
Executive Commercial Manager

With over 10 years of experience in Sponsorship, Events, and Public Relations, Katherine Morgan is a dynamic leader known for driving strategic growth and innovation. As the Executive Manager, Commercial at Business Western Sydney, Katherine oversees strategic commercial initiatives designed to strengthen regional businesses and support community development. Katherine’s expertise lies in creating impactful partnerships, delivering high-quality events, and enhancing organisational offerings to meet evolving stakeholder needs. Passionate about fostering collaboration, she is dedicated to advancing the role of Western Sydney as a hub for business excellence.

Kerrie-Anne McLeod
Conference & Major Events Manager

Kerrie-Anne is the Venue & Events Manager for Business Western Sydney, overseeing all bookings for the Parramatta Square Business & Events Centre. She brings extensive experience to the role, having previously worked as an Events Coordinator for the NSW Business Chamber, as well as serving in positions including Regional Coordinator, Office Manager, Receptionist and Executive Assistant.

With more than 30 years of service with the Chamber, Kerrie-Anne has developed strong capabilities across event management and logistics, delivering high‑quality events ranging from boardroom lunches to large conferences. Her skill set also includes office management, reception operations and executive assistant support.

Bruce McClelland
Partnerships & Engagement Manager

Bruce has been with Business Western Sydney for 8 years, following extensive commercial experience developing both transactional and long-term multi-year projects with private enterprise clients, State & Local Government agencies, across the finance Sector, professional services, IT & telecommunications, servicing some of Australia’s largest commercial and government clients. He is focused on delivering opportunity & value to Business Western Sydney’s members regional engagement activities.  

Jamie Horton

Venue & Events Coordinator

Jaime has over 10 years of experience in the hospitality and events industry, beginning her career at 18 and building strong foundations in venue operations, hospitality leadership, team development and the coordination of social events. This early passion for creating memorable experiences led her to complete her Diploma of Event Management in 2021 and transition into the corporate events sector.

As a Venue & Events Executive at Business Western Sydney, Jaime leads end‑to‑end delivery of corporate, tenant and public events at the Parramatta Square Business & Events Centre. She specialises in audio‑visual coordination, venue operations and polished event execution and also supports marketing and content creation to strengthen the visibility and impact of Business Western Sydney events.

Jaime has lived in Western Sydney her whole life and is passionate about creating seamless, meaningful experiences that bring people together and reflect the heart of the region.

Sabrina Tay

Venue and Events Coordinator

Sabrina is driven by creating vibrant, polished event experiences. With a background spanning creative, community, corporate and non‑profit events, she brings a dynamic approach to every project she leads. Her strengths in event logistics, AV coordination, vendor management and client engagement allow her to deliver seamless, memorable events from concept to execution.

Now part of the Business Western Sydney team, Sabrina is passionate about fostering inclusive, high‑quality event experiences that connect people and elevate the organisation’s impact.
